Special Notes
- Numerous Audi TPIs/TSBs exist for 0B5 transmission problems. Although a majority are flash update related some are hardware related ('printed circuits' internal wiring harness) instead. - Coolant, water ingress and corrosion problems at the 0B5 Mechatronic connector aren't uncommon. When dealing with a TCM that won't communicate at all -or- is packed full of random DTCs such as P1893, P1894, P1892, P1890, U0100, U0146, P2850, U0100, U0212 and U0401 please see this thread:
- Some 0B5 Mechatronic replacements may require the dealer network to match it up even though there is no 'Locked' or 'Component Protection' type fault codes.

- When P17CA is stored in a new Mechatronic unit that does NOT have Component Protection DTCs the Basic Settings procedure may resolve it per feedback in this thread:

Audi Dsg Service Cost
Audi Dsg Tuning
Audi Dsg Transmission Guide
I may consider buying an used B8.5 S4 in the future and just wondering how expensive it is to do the DSG transmission service. Would the DSG service has the same procedures as on a ZF transmission? Procedure would be replace the transmission filter and fluid? How much does a shop charge to do the service? If it involves a very complicated procedures, what shop can really do this except for the dealer?
I know DSG is faster than a 6 speed manual. But it would probably make sense to get a 6 speed manual S4 if the DSG is problematic and expensive to maintain.
